In 1998 vet Stephen Ashdown set up Global Herbs at his base near Chichester, West Sussex after carrying out research for 10 years into herbs and traditional animal health practices.

After a long spell as a vet in the UK he transferred overseas and witnessed first hand the relevance and importance of herbs to people living in the tropical regions of Africa and Asia where modern health facilities are circumscribed. In addition to his veterinary qualification Stephen Ashdown holds master’s degrees in Rural Development Planning and Tropical Animal Production.

When he returned from the Sudan he formed Global Herbs which provides a unique service here in the UK and abroad, combining direct veterinary advice with state-of-the-art science based herbal products.
